In 1793, Dr. Benjamin Rush noticed a similarity in the illnesses that were killing several people. This was the beginning of several months of death and economic destruction as the city of Philadelphia, and the country, did what it could to survive the deadly yellow fever epidemic.

In August of 1793 Philadelphia was visited with a disease that threatened to destroy the nation’s capital. ┬áHear our Historical Expeditionary describe this terrifying time of history and how we survived.
